Combining catchy lyrics with a pop-rock-driven sound, Excellerater is exactly what you’re looking for.  

For Nick Shortt, (Guitar, Vocals) songwriting became a passion around the same time he picked up a guitar. Moving from house to house, composing songs. Shortt has created honest and meaningful lyrics, leaving the listener to interpret the music, in their own personal way.  

After getting a taste for the local music scene, and playing several solo shows, Shortt decided it was time to expand the sound. 

Excellerater cemented its lineup with the addition of Shawn Crozier (Bass, Backing Vocals), and Kyle Lawton (Drums, Backing Vocals).  

This power trio hailing from Stayner is continuing to gain momentum, playing local shows around Ontario.  Playing notable venues such as Horseshoe Tavern (Toronto), Jozo’s (Blue Mountain), and The Dard (Wasaga Beach) as well as festivals like SummerAid (Wasaga Beach), KOI Fest (Kitchener), Otherfolk (Owen Sound), Georgian Triangle Music Festival (Wasaga Beach).  In their short career, Excellerater has shared the stage with the likes of Ill Scarlett, USS, The Flatliners, and The Ascot Royals.  

Thriving off the energy of their live performances, Excellerater always keep that in mind when crafting their music, with energetic songs that get you humming, tapping your feet, and grooving in your seat. Excellerater originals are sure to get you moving. 

Currently, the band is cutting a 5 song EP, at Wallsdown Studio in Owen Sound, with a release date to be announced soon.  Living up to a reputation of an underdog band, Excellerater promises to deliver an entertaining, and energetic show.
